Foster Parrot has suffered a devastating fire at the Sanctuary this morning. A third of the building is in ruins. I’m sorry to report that they lost 100 beloved birds and animals. Staff and volunteers are numb with grief and shock. At least one ‘Too survived... Buddy the U2 - escaped from the north building into the kitchen, where firefighters rescued him. The firefighters rescued all birds in the kitchen, but the kitchen and everything north of it, including all the Cockatoos, Ring Necks, Quaker’s were lost, as was all their medical equipment.
The pandemic has dramatically impacted donations to help run the sanctuary. Now with a fire, Foster Parrots needs your help more than ever.
