R2 was flushed/force fledged out of the nest yesterday when WRODC went up to get them untangled from the fishing line. All fishing line was removed from the nest at this time..Later that day/evening R2 was down in someone's backyard. WRODC was contacted and they went and got R2 , checked them over. They returned R2 this morning to the nest.
R2 Looks good.

Good morning everyone. Last night WRDC got a call from someone with “a huge vulture” in their yard and their house was not far from the nest.
10:46 AM La Envirolatina
Lloyd realized it had to be R2. And then the person texted him a pic and it WAS R2. Lloyd was on duty and the awesome folks at MDFR(Miami Dade Fire Rescue ) drove him over to pick her up. Luckily he had a crate.
10:48 AM La Envirolatina
Lloyd was on duty all night so he removed the rest of the fishing line and checked her feet. She seemed fine, her feet were great. He didn’t feed her (he had no fish) and…
10:49 AM La Envirolatina
It was more important to return her immediately than to bring her back to his place and feed her
10:49 AM La Envirolatina
He got permission again to use the MDFR ladder engine to re-nest her
10:51 AM La Envirolatina
And thus she was Re-nested. No fish offering but she will be ok. She did not get banded because nobody in South Florida has a current license. He did take a feather sample so we can determine gender.
