7.5 week old Staffy Puppy Litter Swimming for the first time

It was a hot day yesterday at the farm so everyone got a swimming session in the pool, including our two puppy litters.

Up first was Shadow the Staffy’s litter of 7 x 7.5 week old puppies.

As a part of their exposure and socialisation training program here at the farm, we get the puppies in the pool early.

Swimming is a big part of the farm with two pools and a dam. It’s also a big part of the region we live in being surrounded by beaches and for those living rurally like us, many have dams. So it’s important for these pups for their future adopted homes to have water and swimming as a part of their early training.

The Staffy puppies were generally calm and trusting considering the new experience. They’re also very strong little ones and had no trouble powering through the water.

A big well done to each of them!
