Abyssinian cat. Abyssinian cat puzzle. Cats puzzle for children and adults.
Some facts.
The image of the Abyssinian cat is found on ancient Egyptian tombs, so it is considered the representative of the most ancient breeds. Due to the unusual appearance of the coat, this breed is also called the "rabbit cat". These short-haired representatives of the cat family have recently begun to enjoy great popularity in our country. Due to the huge demand for this breed of cats, its cost is at a high level.

Origin story
There are several versions associated with the origin of the Abyssinian cat, while all of them are plausible and beyond doubt. Most experts adhere to the version that says that the breed originated from the Zula cat, which was once brought from Ethiopia or Abyssinia. More than 100 years ago, it was brought by Captain Barret-Leonard.

Despite this version, many also tend to believe that this breed originated from wild cats, since in terms of external characteristics it is similar to the data of the North African, steppe or Libyan wild cat. The habitat of the steppe cat is associated with the territory of Africa and the Middle East, while this animal was domesticated several centuries ago. Within the territory of the North African continent, there are other types of wild cats, which, in their characteristics, are similar to the modern Abyssinian cat. And here it makes sense to recall the reed cat and swamp lynx.

Other hypotheses are also known to exist. One of them suggests that the breed originated from an animal brought at one time from Afghanistan or southeast Asia. This version is connected with the fact that at the beginning of the 19th century in the Leiden Zoological Museum, in Holland, you could see a stuffed wild cat, the color of which was similar to the color of the modern Abyssinian cat.

More than a century ago, the first pair of cats of this breed appeared in America. This breed appeared on our territory quite recently, just a couple of decades ago, therefore, a little later, nurseries were organized on the territory of our country, which began to practice breeding Abyssinian cats.

Character Description
The behavior of the Abyssinian cat can be compared with the habits of dogs, since it is characterized as a fairly energetic and playful animal that can be easily trained. These cats have extraordinary intellectual abilities, while they are calm and delicate. Abyssinian cats are not afraid of water, so frequent bathing is always good for them, besides, they are quite inquisitive.

The irrepressible energy of the animal often leads to damage to some interior elements, in the form of curtains or carpets. It seems that these animals do not have a sense of fear and they do not have a self-preservation instinct. In this regard, it is necessary to surround your pet with attention and care from an early age. Otherwise, Abyssinian cats can become depressed. They also miss being alone a lot. In other words, these are companionable animals that will not let you get bored.

Lifespan
The average life expectancy of the Abyssinian cat breed is 12-15 years. But with proper care and excellent nutrition throughout the life of a pet, this period can increase up to 20 years.
