The amiable and good-natured Maine Coon fits in well with a variety of lifestyles and personalities. They enjoy being near humans and have a propensity of following them around, but they are not dependent. They enjoy receiving attention when you direct it their way, but if you're busy, they're content to simply observe your activities. Close a door on them, and they will patiently wait for you to realize your mistake and let them in. They aren't normally lap cats, but they do enjoy being close to you.
