A playful, affectionate cat, the British Shorthair is fiercely loyal and a good companion for single people.


The British Shorthair is mellow and easygoing, making him an excellent family companion. Expect him to follow you around the house during the day, settling nearby wherever you stop. Full of British reserve, the Shorthair has a quiet voice and is an undemanding companion. He doesn’t require a lap, although he loves to sit next to you. Being a big cat, he isn’t fond of being carried around.

This is a cat with a moderate activity level. He’s energetic during kittenhood but usually starts to settle down by the time he is a year old. If you're planning to have these playful and intelligent cats, you can get one of them on these reputable British Shorthair cat breeders.


Ouachita British Shorthairs.

They are members of CFA and show CFA. Their goal is to produce cats that are not only unique and beautiful, but healthy and happy as well. All their kittens are raised with lots of love, attention, and abundant human contact. They spend time in the veterinary clinic getting used to multiple people and animals. This means a happy and well-socialized kitten for you!


Katareece British Shorthairs.

Katareece Cattery has beautiful, loving, playful, and healthy kittens available to loving homes. They started their cattery in 2001 with Scottish Folds but now primarily bred British Shorthairs. They breed for top-quality British Shorthair cats and kittens. They specialize in shaded, spotted, and classic silver tabby kittens but also have kittens in traditional colors of blue, blue-cream, cream, bi-color, and calico of the show, breeder, and pet quality.

They work very closely with their veterinarian to keep all of their cats healthy and all of their booster vaccinations, worming, and health check-up to date. They have always tried to have the best quality males and females in our breeding program. They have bred and shown many champions, grand-champions, regional winners and to date one national breed winner Scottish Fold. They screen for health problems prior to breeding. All breeders are FeLV and FIV free and DNA tested negative for PKD.

Each kitten they sell comes with a health certificate from my vet and a written sales contract. Breeder and show-quality kittens are available to responsible breeders and show homes. They want their babies to go to the perfect home. Potential kitten buyers should be caring, loving, and provide a safe, clean indoor home where the kitten will get lots of affection and love. Regular grooming and veterinary visits should also be provided.


Purrceptive British Shorthairs.

They were fascinated by the British Shorthair cat breed the first time they saw them at a cat show. They loved their look and personalities so much, they had to include them in their lives!

All of their breeding cats are tested negative for Polycystic Kidney Disease at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital or by DNA. Their male breeding cats are tested for HCM every few years by echocardiogram by Dr. Lori Siemens. Any cats testing positive are spayed or neutered. Any queens who produce any kitten with heart problems are also tested for HCM or spayed.


Anahata British Shorthairs.

They are a small, house-based, British Shorthair Cattery located in Denver, COLORADO, USA. Their cattery registered with TICA Cat Fanciers Association. They bred British Shorthairs cats and kittens from 2001. Their specialization is silver classic tabby colors, black or chocolate.

From time to time they have kittens for sale, just visit their website and contact them if you are looking for a kitten. Their cats and kittens come from very good international bloodlines. They all are vaccinated and registered. All their cats and kittens live inside their home. They have freedom inside the house, but cannot roam outside. They are raised with love and affection.
