This cat was hit by a car and left for dead. Our hearts break for the pain and suffering this innocent boy had to endure alone and abandoned on the side of the road. The result of the impact left his jaw broken in several places and as well as a severe degloved bottom lip.

Poppy's right eye is ruptured and will be removed. We are unsure if he has a vision in his left eye, but it isn’t likely. He is FIV positive which means his immune system is weaker and he may have an even harder time recovering. He also has ear mites and fleas. Poor Poppy can't catch a break, he will be spending the night at the vet and will receive fluids, antibiotics, and pain medicine.

They are currently doing more blood work and will prepare him for surgery tomorrow to give him a feeding tube, wire his jaw together, reattach his bottom lip, and remove his ruptured eye. The biggest obstacle will be ensuring the infection in his mouth doesn’t prevent his jaw from healing. ????
