Cats like to rush or pester especially for food. Teaching delayed gratification has many benefits beyond feeding. I use sit stay command with ongoing count 1-10 to ensure ongoing contact, Dash will wait (on a good day) up to 60 seconds as he has learned he gets fed. Let me know if u try and it works!
