Jimmy the Grey, Sadiya Golden Eyes, and Noctua are three starving semi-feral cats rescued from a hoarding house several weeks ago. They'd had little or no food for way too long and were extremely emaciated, malnourished, and terrified. Thanks to donations of the very best high-quality cat food from two wonderful women, you can see how glossy the cats' fur is getting, and missing fur (particularly noticeable on Jimmy) is starting to fill in. Their weepy eyes and noses are also clearing up as their immune systems get stronger. Thankfully, none of the cats look like walking skeletons anymore.

Socially, Jimmy has always been the most outgoing of the three, but he was shy and hid for the first day or two. No more shyness now, just purrs (sound on), and he has found his voice! He is complaining because he is in the cage for a little bit so that I can establish more of a connection with Sadiya and Noctua. When Jimmy is out he tries to hog all my attention.

And Sadiya has made great progress, too. I am actually filming from inside the cage with her and she is relaxed. She will even approach for some pets. Noctua is still taking refuge in the kitty cup, but she lets me see her face now. The super tasty variety of food has really helped. Noctua will peek out to see what exciting new thing she is getting next.

It should be noted that rescuer Marcie (Red Rose Animal Rescue (https://www.redroseanimalrescue.org/ - donations VERY welcome) came by yesterday to help me trim Jimmy's claws. She was the first person other than myself to visit them since their arrival, and they all hid. Marcie kept reassuring them that she was not there to take them away, but that is normal for semi-ferals. They tend to bond to place and routine rather than people. I don't know if that will change—healing is a journey—we will take it day by day. I felt it was a good sign that they did not hide for long after the scary, and were quite willing to come out for supper (-:
