===============================================

Cats scratch stuff all the time. They do this to sharpen their claws and keep their feet in shape. Cats also spend a lot of time licking themselves since this is how they clean themselves. When cats claw or lick the wrong objects and do not respond to reprimand, they are diagnosed with destructive behavior. However, not all damaging conduct is the same. When a cat scratches on the incorrect items but exhibits no other symptoms, it is most likely exhibiting primary destructive behavior. Cats who spend too much time licking or scratching at objects, on the other hand, are prone to develop a secondary destructive tendency.
