There are numerous types of aggression-based biting and scratching behaviors in cats, some of which may be traced back to behavior learnt from their owners or interactions with their owners. Kittens learn to bite and scratch as part of their growth and, if not educated early, will not understand when using their claws and teeth is inappropriate.
