Fethiye Turkey a British Expat Top Retirement Location (Turkiye 2022 Expats, Cost & Quality of Life)

Due to many requests we decided to visit Fethiye Turkey for three days. It’s less than four hours drive through some beautiful mountains from Antalya where we are spending six weeks. Fethiye is popular with British Expats and English speaking is commonplace here.
Fethiye's population is approximately 150,000, and about one out of every 20 people in the area is a foreigner who has made a permanent home in the area. The majority of foreigners residing in Fethiye are from the UK, which is around 5,200 British expats. Fethiye is a popular summer beach destination, but in our visit we explore Fethiye in the off tourist time in the winter.

The average US Retiree on Social Security receives $1,550 a month, and a couple on Social Security receives over $2,500 a month. A US Expat living on Social Security can expect a great standard of living in Turkey when compared to the living costs in the US.

Currently Turkey is a tremendous value for Expats with income from abroad, the exchange rate when this vide was made was 13.6 Turkish Lira to the US Dollar.
