Guinea pigs are masters of the Pavlovian response. The tapping is the container we use to collect their favourite snack, grass and it sets them wheeking every time.

Amazingly they will associate sounds with food in as little as two or three repetitions. You can make a sound just a few times when feeding them something they like and for months that sound will trigger them!
