In the 1890s, Thailand's solid-brown Siamese cats were displayed in the United Kingdom. During that period, they were given the nickname Swiss Mountain Cat. The Siamese Cat Club of Britain determined in 1920 that brown cats with blue eyes were no longer desired, and that was the end of it. Breeders lost interest in them until the 1950s, when a group of British cat breeders took up the mission of detaining them.
