We are asking for all your prayers as we prepare to find out what is going on with one of our new intakes named Wobbles. This kitty is only 3 months old and does not have a second to relax because his body quivers nonstop!

Wobbles was brought in by a rescuer who met him as a kitten. The rescuer explains that she remembers Wobbles “trembling” since he was little, but believed it was because he was so frightened! We wish this was the case, but then she realized as he became bigger, the trembling became more obvious. That’s when she knew it was critical that Wobbles receive individual care.

Here at Sunshine Fund Rescue, we did not think twice about taking Wobbles in. He truly is an angel. After caring for Wobbles for a few days, we learned that he may be facing a bacterial or viral infection which is causing his body face shocks across his body. To fight any virus, he has had 3 doses of Clindamycin that’ll treat any infection for now.

Additionally, Wobbles will be receiving veterinary care to run bloodwork. We want to determine if he is suffering from Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual or not fully developed. Alternatively, Wobbles may be facing Neuro FIP which is a response by cats who have been infected with FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis). Therefore, bloodwork is crucial to narrow down the diagnosis and create the best treatment plan for this little guy.

Getting to know Wobbles has been such a special experience so far. Just like any kitten, he LOVES to play with toys and attempts to run in between his trembles. He also loves to eat but needs assistance at times. Because his body shakes so much, he might miss bites of food. This is why I have helped with applying pressure on his back to help steady his head. Hopefully, with some physical therapy, he may be able to build some more strength in his legs to help with this struggle.
