Innocent Kitten With Injured Back Legs Begged Strangers For Help After Being Abandoned By Family

Sweet kitten Minka, who has lost the use of her back legs, was rescued after being spotted dragging herself down the side of a road, crying out for help. Minka’s family had moved, but before leaving they discarded Minka and her belongings in the garbage behind their home.

We recently got a call from an officer about a kitten dragging itself along the side of a road. We immediately drove out to where the officer said the kitten had been seen, and began looking. Shortly after arriving, Minka found us. Desperate for help as she had lost the use of her back legs, Minka dragged herself over to us, loudly crying out for our attention. This sweet little girl was absolutely bereft, and needed quite a bit of comforting to calm down.

We looked around the area, trying to figure out where Minka came from. We found items for a cat in the garbage behind a nearby house. The house was empty, and after doing some more investigating, we discovered that the owners of the house had moved out and left poor Minka behind. Had Minka been thrown into the garbage can with her belongings, like she was trash? Who could have such little care for this sweet and innocent kitten? We do not know if Minka was in her current condition before her family left her, or if she sustained some injury that left her without the use of her back legs after she was abandoned. We are completely heartbroken at the thought of this sweet baby all alone in the street, confused and afraid.

We are working to get Minka in to see the vet right away so that we can determine the cause of her apparent paralysis. Minka will need a significant amount of veterinary care and possibly physical therapy. We need your help to give Minka a second chance.
