Hello, today you will learn FUN FACTS ABOUT AQUARIUMS! Fans of bright and silent pets first of all start an aquarium. Sometimes it's just a large glass jar with a single fish. But there are aquariums of incredible size with a huge volume of water, which are usually located in zoos or aquariums. It is expensive to maintain such a structure, so amateur aquarists get by with much smaller models. English designer Stuart Hughes has created the most expensive aquarium in the world - the Golden Dragon. It took about fifty kilograms of gold of the highest standard to make it. For decoration, mammoth tusks and Tyrannosaurus rex bones were used. The aquarium is equipped with a carbon dioxide supply unit, a filtration system, a temperature controller and a water exchange pump. The German capital Berlin boasts the largest cylindrical aquarium, the AquaDom. It is located in the courtyard of the Radisson Blu hotel. With a height of twenty-five meters, its outer diameter is eleven meters, and the inner diameter is slightly less than three. The acrylic cylinder holds almost a million liters of seawater, in which two thousand six hundred fish of a wide variety of species frolic. A transparent two-story elevator cabin inside a giant cylinder aquarium allows hotel guests to see the aquatic world from the inside. Astronotus is a very popular fish among aquarists. It is considered the largest fish farmed in artificial conditions: its length reaches twenty to thirty centimeters. In nature, the astronotus can grow up to thirty-five centimeters. These fish are not afraid when stroked, but they can bite with rather sharp teeth. There is a specially bred red variety of such a fish - "Red Oscar". China has a Guinness World Records Oceanarium called Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. The total volume of all its salt and fresh water reservoirs is nearly forty-three million liters. The attraction is located in the amusement park of the city of Zhuhai. The aquarium is home to thousands of exotic fish and other inhabitants of the underwater world, including sharks. The word "aquarium" was coined by the Englishman Philip Henry Gosse, a naturalist who devoted part of his life to the study of marine animals. He was one of the inventors of the saltwater aquarium and helped popularize aquarism in England. Pati, a female eel born in the Sargasso Sea and caught at the age of three in the North Atlantic, lived the longest among the aquarium fish. For eighty-eight years, the long-liver swam in the aquarium of the museum in the Swedish city of Helsingborg. Eels are freshwater fish but thrive in the ocean. In nature, these fish live from five to twenty-five years. If the information was useful to you, you can like and subscribe to the channel! See you soon.
