Kitkat Playroom LIVE: The Inventors & Kenna

The Inventors were picked up by Animal Control on May 24th. The kittens had been at the shelter for a few weeks. They came in to the shelter with really bad eyes and some other medical issues, which were treated in the shelter. One of the original litter of 5 sadly passed away in the shelter. The 4 remaining kittens were brought into KKP on June 14, 2023 and given baths. Shelter has their date of birth as May 4th.

The 4 wk. old tortie girl, Kenna, was rescued from the Philly shelter on 6/15. She has neuro symptoms, possibly hydrocephalus, like Tate. Her neuro appt with Dr Glass is 7/5.

On 6/16, after several seizures overnight, she was taken to Red Bank emergency for evaluation. Kenna was evaluated by neurology. It could be hydro or many other things. She was sent home with an anti-seizure med (Keppra) and antibiotic. An MRI is the best diagnostic tool but is super risky at her small size . They couldn’t tell much about her vision, but her pupils don’t dilate correctly.

ER doc will consult with Dr Glass to decide next steps. MRI might be postponed due to her size.

She'll be fed by hand several times a day. She needs help with wet food. Feeding will coincide with the administering of her Keppra...3 times per day.
