This lovely young man is named Joseph, but it doesn't seem he has ever known true safety or comfort in his life. Joseph's story is a familiar one, as he dumped with his litter of siblings on a backcountry road in Michigan.
Joseph was spotted by a concerned citizen and scooped up due to his unsightly medical conditions. Joesph has a prolapsed rectum and is also bearing a genetic trait called "Rumpy Manx" which means he was born with no tail at all. Joseph was presented to rescuers at Saved By Zade covered in dirt and scared, as he has only known the streets in his short life so far. A volunteer quickly took little Joesph to the emergency clinic at Michigan State University, where they said his prolapsed rectum was so severe he needed to be rushed into immediate surgery. Thankfully, his surgery was a major success. Joseph's post-surgical routine is very hectic, as he needs around-the-clock care and special medicine as he heals.
As of right now, Joseph is safe and recovering from his surgery. Rescuers have said that he seems to be as sweet as honey, only wanting to receive pets and be playful. Rescuers have assured us he is in the best care possible after having severe and invasive surgery.
We are asking for donations on Joseph's behalf to go toward his costly surgical bills and post-surgical care. Without help, he could go unadopted due to unwanted fees and go back to being hopeless and homeless. Please find it in your heart to give this beautiful young cat and virtual hug and donate to his cause. We desperately want to see Joseph get the life he so deserves. Thank you to any benefactor who has contributed to his cause and every future benefactor as well.
