The bobcat, also known as the red lynx, is a medium-sized cat native to North America. It ranges from southern Canada through most of the contiguous United States to Oaxaca in Mexico. It is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List since 2002, due to its wide distribution and large population. This sleek feline has black fur with brown rosettes on its sides and back, giving it an extra-slim look that makes it seem bigger than its 30-pound stature might imply. Its underside is white or cream-colored with dark spots near the tail. These animals live in Arizona and there are no restrictions for them walking around outside your home!
