Today I went on a pelagic on the North Sea, above the Frisian island Ameland. This video shows only a small part of what I saw, because I did not want to get sea sick from filming. Therefore, the beautiful Manx shearwater that passed the boat at very close range is not in this video unfortunately. Birds that are in this video:
- Razorbill (we saw many and also some Guillemots)
- Arctic skuas (aka Parasitic Jaeger)
- Black-legged kittiwake (we not only saw juveniles, also some adults)
- Sooty shearwaters (we saw 10+ which is a lot for this kind of trips)
- Gannets (they are hardly ever heard calling, that's why I include it here, despite the strong wind noise)
- Pomarine skuas
