Well Peeps...
Obi is back home with his amazing family with a whole new lease on life!
He is now equipped with an unbelievable obedience foundation built on respect, MASSIVE impulse control, and the ‘ole on/off switch for playtime versus a calmer state of mind.
Obi came to us completely out of control with arousal (a literal wrecking ball ????), was tuned out from his owners, did not listen, would barrel over every new human he met (making it impossible for grandma to ever visit the house), would pull so hard on leash that he was nearly unwalkable, and had some underlying insecurities that were leading to his inappropriate barking.
We discussed how micromanaging all of Obi’s choices until they become habitual is the goal for the next couple of months until he starts defaulting into making good choices on his own. At no point should he be allowed to make his own decisions. Once he consistently offers good manners, we then can reward with a bit more freedom to see how he behaves when it’s granted.
Obi is a very special boy and is well on his way to having that amazing bond all of us dog owners crave with our pets! I am so thrilled for his family to experience the everywhere dog they’ve always wanted, and the true nature of this sweet boy when he is his most balanced self!
