Pumpkin was transferred to Valley Humane on 3/16 from Stockton Animal Services. She had been originally adopted from that facility as a kitten but her family was unable to keep her. Pumpkin weighs 8 pounds and is estimated to be between 1 and 4 years old. This cat presented to VHS with permanent scarring on the left cornea (the clear part in the front of the eye). No treatment is required, but she could have partial loss of vision in that eye. Cats with partial loss of vision quickly learn to compensate and this is not expected to diminish her quality of life in any way.
During shelter-in-place, Valley Humane is conducting adoptions by appointment only. If you would like to adopt Pumpkin, please complete an Adoption Inquiry Form (copy and paste the following URL into your browser), https://valleyhumane.org/adoption/adoption-inquiry-form/
An adoption counselor will reach out via telephone to conduct an adoption interview. Once you have submitted your application, stand by to answer our call! Animals posted to the website are ready to go home and applicants are typically called the same day as the Inquiry Form is received.
If approved, we will schedule an adoption appointment for you, your family and the animal at our facility in Pleasanton.
