Red fox numbers in cities like Mississauga often decline when coyotes move in. Or at least they seem to. Red fox have the widest range of any carnivore. they can be found in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia (introduced…sadly). They are survivors and they seem to learn how to cope in our City to that other canine predator the coyote. Just how they are doing this is still a matter of speculation which we explore in this talk.

Dave Taylor is a wildlife photographer and the author of more than 40 books on wildlife and ecology. His most recent book, Black Bears: A Natural History (2nd edition), is available now. Dave also focuses his efforts on producing educational videos and material about wildlife for both the public and to support school curriculum. He has travelled throughout the world capturing nature with his camera, and he frequently visits Tanzania where he guides wildlife safaris. Dave taught science and geography for more than 30 years, and nature photography at Humber College for more than 25 years, and today is a consultant for The Riverwood Conservancy.
