We're really excited to share this news! Both of our red panda cubs are back with their mom, Maiya!

It's so important for us to have successfully reintroduced the hand-reared cub to her sister and mother. Growing up with other red pandas will help her develop natural behaviors and social skills. This way, she can have the chance to move to another AZA zoo in the future and successfully raise her own family. That’s the goal of Species Survival Plans, which our red pandas are a part of.

This process took a lot of hard work from our vet and Animal Care staff. They’ll continue feeding her from a bottle until she’s weaned and keep an eye on the group’s behavior and welfare. We look forward to watching this little family grow!
