In Hammerfest City in Northern Norway, you often find reindeer wandering around in the streets. These animals were recorded grazing in front of two passenger ships from the Coastal Express (Hurtigruten).

The small ship is MS Lofoten and the bigger one is MS Nord-Norge. Both were used on the route between Bergen and Kirkenes, but were laid up in Hammerfest in 2020 during the COVID-19 epidemic.

This is about 1 kilometre from the city centre. If you go to Hammerfest in the summer, you have a big chance of seeing reindeer. The city has put up fences to keep them away from the populated areas, but the animals still manage to sneak through to graze. And they are not too concerned about having people and cars around.

Hammerfest is a town that is also the administrative centre of Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located on the northwestern coast of the island of Kvaløya. The 2.84-square-kilometre (700-acre) town has a population (2017) of 8,052 which gives the town a population density of 2,835 inhabitants per square kilometre (7,340/sq mi).

The town has an ice-free harbor, including the nearby island of Melkøya which is home# o a natural gas processing station. The "midnight sun" is above the horizon from 15 May to 31 July, and the period with continuous daylight lasts a bit longer. Polar night, on the other hand, lasts from 23 November to 19 January.
