Rihanna & Ficus: A Budding Friendship or Romance?

Rihanna is one of the 3 backyard cats that my late sister Diane started feeding in late 2018 or early 2019 when the 3 cats were still kittens. The other 2 cats are named Adele & Beyoncé. They made our backyard their home. That time they were skinny and starving and not much to look at. They eventually grew to become the beautiful cats they are today. All 3 cats have been spayed, vaccinated, and given anti-rabies shots and dewormers. Sometimes we call them the 3 divas. Rihanna is the gentle one with a beautiful face. She’s probably 4 years old now.

On January 3, 2021, we found Ficus hiding underneath a pickup truck. He was tiny, dirty, skinny, starving, full of fleas and earmites. We estimated that he was about 3 months old. Later on we found out that Ficus is a Japanese bobtail. That explains his very playful nature. He’s also highly intelligent and lovable. Ficus turned 3 on September 25, 2023.

Ficus is an indoor cat and he grew up with our dogs Emma & Shirley. He wants to be friends with the 3 divas but it seems that only Rihanna is receptive.
