The American hairless terrier is a newcomer to the canine world and the only hairless breed
native to the United States. We consider him new as he has only been around for roughly half a
century. Its origins may be traced back to 1972 when Edwin Scott raised a litter that included a
female hairless rat terrier called Josephine.
