On Endangered Species Day 2021, The Sanctuary's Education Team went Live on Facebook with a virtual presentation to discuss the recent change in conservation status for African elephants. African forest elephants joined their Asian elephant cousins as "critically endangered" and African savannah elephants moved from "threatened" to "endangered."
Knowing the true conservation status of each species gives us the opportunity to recognize the threats facing elephants and tackle them head-on. We have to act now to protect elephants — and we talk about how in this Facebook Live presentation and Q&A session with viewers. Watch the replay here!
