Sweet/shy kitty looking for a quiet home. He loves being petted. Since he has longer fur, he should be brushed regularly, at least once a week, to prevent his fur from matting. He has a taller/stockier body frame. He arrived with a wound to his neck for which the shelter vet treated (his fur will grow back in that shaved area).
This kitty is FIV+, so he must be an indoor only cat. FIV is a cat-only virus, and cannot be transmissible to humans or other species of animals. FIV cannot be spread casually – like in litter boxes, food and water bowls, or when snuggling and playing. Instead, it is transmitted to other cats through serious, penetrating bite wounds -- the type of bite wound that is seen most often in feral, intact tomcats. Cats with FIV can live very long, perfectly comfortable lives with a good diet and annual veterinarian exam.
If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please call the adoption by appointment phone number at (916) 875-CATS (2287) between 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Sunday (closed Mondays and holidays) to set up an appointment to meet this kitty. Be prepared to give the shelter representative the animal ID number, which is A794109.
