Two Sphynx Kittens Died: What You Should Know

We have very sad news. ????

Thor and Apollo, two sphynx kittens died last night.

I haven't posted for a few days because I wasn't in the necessary condition after I found out the sad news from the vet.

What happened?

Early last week both boys caught a virus that affected their respiratory system. The vet didn't give them a chance of survival from the start.

They were not allowed to take antibiotics because they are too small and the only thing they took was a product to strengthen their immunity.

They were no longer sucking milk from mother Nyx because they couldn't breathe properly and in the last few days we only fed them with the bottle, still hoping that they would recover.

Unfortunately, from one day to the next, they lost 10-15 grams each, until they were only skin and bones. Soon they died.

We buried them together in the backyard and now we're trying to recover from the sad incident.

Unfortunately, sad moments like this happen especially to purebred cats, being very sensitive and their life is not certain until they pass the first month.

Now we have to focus our attention on the other two kittens, the girls. They gained weight well and suck only milk from mother Nyx.

We hope that everything will be fine and that there will be no problems until we start deworming them. If we pass that step we can be calmer.

Also on this sad occasion I announce that we will no longer breed Nyx from now on. It's painful to see how kittens die and we don't cope well in such moments.

After they all grow up and find families that love them, we will focus our attention on Nyx and Zeus, who have already been neutered.

Also, as a sign of respect and gratitude in order not to give up on the community that has gathered here, we will continue to post moments with events from their lives and information on how sphynx cats can be better cared for.

We also considered a proposal received online to post videos with other sphynx cats, which are not ours, but we will analyze it and decide later if we will implement it here.

I am sorry for today's sad news, but this is the truth and must be accepted.
