Ear cropping. A historical procedure dating back thousands of years. Yet I see so many people calling for it's ban without even knowing it causes very little harm to dogs. Same deal with Tail docking.
A lot of people assume it's cruel and only for cosmetic reasons. A lot of people give into the lies of Animal Rights Activists who seek to not just ban procedures like those, but also who seek to ban pet ownership entirely. A lot of people just don't bother to seek out what is true and what is a myth...
I am here after 6 months of research, meet ups with Vets, and discussions to bring you why Ear Cropping & Tail docking are not cruel.

RangerTalks is a series where I talk about (sometimes controversial) subjects in the dog world. Being a dog groomer and prospective professional handler, I see a lot of stuff that most people are ignorant about, and I hope to show the other side of such arguments. Mostly this relates to Purebreds, Dog Sports and Rescue issues, but can also breach to other subjects like genetic breed aggression, raw diets, and working dogs.
