Why I Became A Cat Groomer#
Oliver or Olly for short is the reason why i became a cat groomer!
My Father and I went to the local RSPCA centre to rehome a cat or two after my Father lost his two black cats within weeks of each other to old age and the problems that old cats face.
Upon arriving at the cattery, we specifically asked to be shown anything other than black cats as my Father wanted something different.
How lucky where we that day to be told that two ginger boys had come in a few months earlier and were struggling to be rehomed because they were older cats. That was music to our ears as older cats were perfect for my Dad.
They were both males, one was shorthaired and one was longhaired!
They were immediately brought home and given the most loving home any cat could hope for.
However, within a couple of week, Ollie's coat had become badly matted and we just didn't know how to cope with his coat.
After speaking with the local vet and being told that Olly would have to go under anaesthetic to have the matts removed put us off. We were also told the risks of an older cat and the fact that we didn't know of any health conditions, which meant it was an even higher risk that Olly would not survive.
After hearing that, we were dead set on finding a groomer.
That was more difficult that we thought.
Eventually we found a lady to come and clip Olly.
That was the day that changed my life completely.
I watched and decided there and then I had to become a cat groomer.
I went to London and trained in a salon on a residential course for a numver of weeks before returning home and setting up Love Cats Groomer.
I have never looked back.
Since then, I have also trained in animal communication and animal healing.
i absolutely love cats and I hope that every cat I get to meet realises this.
I treat all cats as if they are my own.
Every fur baby needs to be handled with great respect and love.
