Ingredients:
- 500g of fish (preferably Rohu or Hilsa)
- 1 cup of grated coconut
- 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 2 tablespoons of mustard oil
- Salt to taste
- Banana leaves

Instructions:

1. Clean the fish and cut it into pieces. Rub the pieces with salt and turmeric powder and set them aside.

2. Grind the grated coconut, mustard seeds, green chilies, red chili powder, and salt into a fine paste. Add a little water if required.

3. Marinate the fish pieces with the freshly prepared masala paste for about 30 minutes.

4. Cut the banana leaves into square pieces and dip them in hot water for a few minutes until they become flexible.

5. Take a single banana leaf and place a piece of marinated fish on it.

6. Fold the banana leaf to make a neat parcel and tie it with a string.

7. Repeat the process for the remaining fish pieces and masala paste.

8. Steam the fish parcels for about 10-12 minutes.

9. Once cooked, remove the banana leaves and serve the fish paturi hot with steamed rice.

Note: If banana leaves are not easily available, you can use baking paper instead.
