Mackenzie came to the shelter after he and many other cats were found housed in the back of a U-Haul. He has been at the shelter since November and has undergone several treatment plans to make him the strong Boy you see today. Mackenzie is playful, inquisitive and a snuggle bug . Mackenzie is a special boy who has cerebellar hypoplasia. This just means that he is wobblily and uncoordinated but it doesn't slow him down much! Since he has balance issues a home with no stairs would be ideal but strategically placed baby gates would also do the trick. It may take him a bit to warm up to new people and new surroundings. He has spent more time with other cats than he has people and would thrive best in a home with another cat. Without the companionship of another cat she will likely exhibit unwanted behavior issues such as excessive vocalization, become destructive or depressed. Sadly he has never been a pet cat and has lived his lives confined. An entire house is going to see foreign to them, starting out in one room for 3-4 weeks is recommended to help build trust and to encourage good bathroom habits. A Feliway diffuser would help to reduce stress during the transition period. If you think you are the right match for this cat email hashcroft@hbspca.com to begin our No Contact Adoption Process.
