** Update: It's a girl and a boy! Gender assessment has eldest LR1 female, and younger LR2 male.
The nest cam livestream went down this morning between 10.30 and 11.45, and when it came back up again, the chicks were seen to be sporting new bling! The ringers have visited, and the chicks have been given Darvic Rings LR1 and LR2. As these are Scottish chicks, the blue Darvic ring is on the left leg and the silver BTO ring is on the right leg. English and Welsh birds have it the other way round.
In this clip mum NC0 seems to have recovered from the intrusion of the ringers' visit, and is shouting loudly for lunch to be delivered, while the chicks concentrate on doing some wing stretches. They'll be needing those wings soon - ringing today means fledging day is coming up soon.
